I also loved Once Upon a Marigold by Jean Ferris.

Try the Frog Princess and see if she enjoys them. Baker, who wrote fairy tale like stories, with magic, dragons. Sounds tricky! A couple things come to mind. She also loves Princesses, but she prefers Mulan, Frozen etc over Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty.

She watches The Legend of Korra, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel etc. If it helps, I know she loves magic, but more whimsical magic - fairies and unicorns and those kinds of magical creatures. We tried books her brothers read like Ahn Do, Paul Jennings, the treehouse series, Wimpy Kid etc. She has no interest in the books I used to read like Babysitters Club and Judy Blume. Harry Potter was a bust even though I thought that'd be the one to get her. She gets bored by the classics like Anne of Green Gables. She's said absolute no to any detective stories (Nancy Drew, Friday Barnes etc are out). I know we just need to find the right ones! My nine year old has a great imagination and is actually at a pretty high reading level, but we can not get her to enjoy reading, and she defaults to graphic novels as she'd rather look at the pictures than sit through a boring story - she has ADHD and needs books that spark her imagination off the bat or she gets bored and restless.
